Louisa Boren Middle School
The Louisa Boren Middle School project consisted of two phases aimed at reopening a 120,000 square foot building that had been dormant for almost two years. Originally constructed as a middle school, it served as an interim high school before being repurposed as an elementary school.
The scope of work included the addition of a new Early Learning Center with outdoor play space, classroom reconfigurations, asbestos abatement, voluntary seismic upgrades, and interior and exterior finish repairs and painting.

During Phase I, we coordinated the work to allow the Owner to undertake certain tasks themselves, thereby saving costs while maintaining staff employment. The remodeled school was intended to house Seattle Public Schools’ STEM program and accommodate two separate elementary schools within the same building.

Phase II involved further voluntary seismic upgrades, ceiling repairs, and finishing touches to departments while the school was in full session.
